What is A Doula?
Doula is a Greek word that means "woman's servant". In ancient times, women giving birth were surrounded by the energy and wisdom of other women who had given birth. Today, certified doulas are not only experienced, but specially trained to provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to women in labor. The doula also helps partners to experience the birth more fully, enhancing their participation and comfort level.
